Itinerary

Day 1 - Drive to Marloth Park

After arriving in Johannesburg the night before, the adventure starts with a road trip along the N12 and N4 stopping at ALZU PETROPORT N4 where you will get your first glimpse of wildlife while you stretch your legs.

Day 2 - Marloth Park

The group will get settled in to the area with a self-drive (driven by the Ignite Team) safari, a trip to the local grocery store and a trip to the feed store for game pellets and for dinner, a traditional South African Braai (BBQ).

Day 3 - Professional Safari

Taking a sunrise safari with a professional safari company in an open side, elevated vehicle for the morning including brunch at Lower Sabie in Kruger National Park.

Day 4 - Tswale the Elephant

There will be a self-drive safari in the morning but the real highlight of today is meeting Tswale, the Educational Elephant.

Day 5 - Professional Night Safari with Braai

You’ve seen the park at dawn, now you’ll see it at sunset and after dark. With a beautiful Braai for dinner in the middle of the park this is a can’t miss experience.

Day 6 - Marloth Park

A final self-drive safari, souvenir shopping and relaxation will end your week in Marloth Park.

Day 7 - The Panorama Route

The group will take a different route back to Johannesburg to enjoy sites along part of the Panorama Route including God’s Window, Mac-Mac Falls and more before a final night by the Johannesburg airport ready for departing flights the following day.

    ** To keep it affordable, accommodation is private beds with the possibility of shared rooms. If you want to guarantee a private room there is an extra fee.

  • The founders of Ignite Travel, Shae and Stephen Pepper, will be leading this trip. Both are experienced travelers and have done all of these activities before.

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in your trip price. As the property is self-catering we will eat in for many of our meals but our aim is always to eat locally, when we dine out, and to make sure there are vegetarian options available.

  • The Ignite Team will be driving two SUVs in caravan and having lived in the UK are confident drivers on both sides of the road. This is so that group participants can roll down their windows on self-drive safaris for the best view of the wildlife. You will not be driving in South Africa - even “self-drive” safaris are chauffeured by the Ignite Team.

  • Marloth Park is an incredibly special place with beautiful holiday homes (and private residences) that back onto Kruger National Park. There are often wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, warthogs and more in the backyards of Marloth Park and included in your trip are game pellets for the wildlife. Due to the ecology of the area this is a necessary supplement to their diets. There are also predators (big cats) that live in Marloth Park and you will receive a safety briefing upon arrival.

  • The Ignite Team are experienced travelers and enjoy travel-hacking. We are happy to provide guidance to help you gain the knowledge you need to get free award flights to South Africa if they are available.
